Seguro que cuando recobre el conocimiento, lo primero que Paco recuperará con él es el sentido del humor, y las ganas de hacer chistes con cipreses y hospitales. Paco, despiértate pronto y ponte manos a la obra cuanto antes: ¡estamos deseando ver esos chistes!
Los Irreverendos somos poco dados a los homenajes, pero Paco Martinmorales debe saber, cuando se despierte, que sus amigos y admiradores nos hemos estado acordando de él. Martinmorales no sólo es un maestro del dibujo de humor y un referente para todos los dibujantes granadinos que crecimos viendo sus viñetas diarias en IDEAL y en DIARIO DE GRANADA, antes de “hacerse famoso” y dar el salto a la prensa nacional; es también un compañero amable y generoso, que no escatima consejos y atenciones a quien quiera escucharle, y que permanece muy pendiente del trabajo de las “nuevas generaciones” de dibujantes.
Así lo hizo, por ejemplo, en su discurso de ingreso en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Granada. No olvidó a sus compañeros de generación, más curtidos en la batalla gráfica diaria, ni a los “nuevos dibujantes” que intentamos seguir su estela y a los que él también nos considera compañeros. Para nosotros los pintamonas fue emocionante estar allí para aplaudirle, rodeados de fracs y fanfarrias.
Paco, nosotros tampoco te olvidamos; que sepas que ese tronco también nos ha caído a nosotros en la cabeza…¡a ver si entre todos te ayudamos un poquito a levantarlo!
