El responsable de La cárcel de papel, sección celebérrima de La codorniz antes que hoja parroquial electrónica de la tebeofilia española, justifica la orientación ideológica que imprimió al semanario su director después de Mihura, Álvaro Delaiglesia. Entre el humor blanco de la otra generación del 27 y el negro de Chumy y familia, Acevedo defiende la tímida crítica social que tolera a regañadientes la censura del franquismo agonizante. Dice que el humor es “la cómico dignificado por una filosofía suprasocial”… Para el caso, bien podría sostener que su humor es una filosofía suprasocial dignificada por lo cómico.

La conclusión filosófica es clara: Bergson se partió de risa el día que vio despeñarse a un viejecillo desde lo alto de la torre Eiffel y escribió este libro para demostrarle a su novia de entonces que no era un tipejo insensible sino que se había limitado a expresar su amor a la libertad.

Ballart también pasa revista a las definiciones que proponen unos y otros, se interroga incluso por el porqué de la ironía y termina inspeccionando tres ejemplos: el Cervantes de Rinconete, Valle-Inclán y Gil de Biedma. Tan impecable e instructivo que nos vemos en la necesidad de consolarnos suponiendo que a su autor le huele el aliento o luce en la coronilla una horripilante calva de fraile. Tanta perfección asusta.
Redeeming laughter de Peter L. Berger
Es probable que ahuyente a uno de los dos lectores que quedaban a estas alturas del post si escribo que Peter L. Berger es uno de los grandes de la sociología fenomenológica. De hecho, no sólo lo he ahuyentado: acaba de convencer al otro lector para que suba a su casa a tomarse un café en posición horizontal. Bravo por él. La pena es que el libro realmente vale la pena, si bien no tanto como ese café. Berger siempre defendió la necesidad de considerar los aspectos humorísticos de la realidad en el estudio sociológico y aquí, liberado de las restricciones metodológicas de la disciplina, nos conduce a base de golpes de risa (debe ser el sociólogo de su barrio que se sabe más chistes de madres judías) hasta la trascendencia metafísica. Que también tiene mérito.
